ALL-STATE MIDDLE SCHOOL HONOR CHOIR POSTED

Congratulations to Kim Teigland and Matthew Travers for being selected to sing in the All-State Middle School Honor Choir. They will be receiving their music next month and (after learning their parts) will be traveling to Eugene in January to participate in the mass choir rehearsals and performance.

JUNIOR HIGH CHOIR & NAPOLEAN GO TO THE OFFICE

Here's a couple of Junior High Choir pictures of students dressed in funny costumes. Today, just for the fun of it, the Junior High Choir accompanied "Napolean Dynamite" (aka Marcus) down to the office so he could ask "Can I use your guyses phone for a sec?" He really did a good imitation. (He even said he needed to call home for some chapstick.) The only catch was...none of the 5 adults in the office had ever seen the movie! While we were all down there we went ahead and sang for the office staff.

FALL CONCERT - HUGE SUCCESS

All the choirs really kicked in and sounded great. There were a few rough spots but the audience was mainly unaware of them. You were respectful, attentive and showed sensitivity through your singing. There were great comments in the lobby and there were smiles all around. We'll continue to build our confidence and get to work on our Christmas music right away. Congratulations to you all!!!

VOCAL ENSEMBLE WASHES PUD TRUCKS

A few weeks ago some Vocal Ensemble members washed PUD trucks to raise money for their Spring Trip to the Bahamas. These pics prove they were there and earned their money. Good job, crew!

NEW LINKS - UPGRADE

Thanks to a "with it" mom (B.G.) who asked if our Performance Schedule was on this site...I can now answer...YES! Look at the LINKS section to the left and find the new listings: Course Offerings, THS Performance Schedule, TJHS Performance Schedule, Choir Grading Policy and JH Beginning Guitar Assignment Schedule. No one has any excuses for missing a concert date...or not knowing how I give out grades. Now even you - yes you - can refresh your memory 24-7. If you have questions, leave a comment or email me...my email address is listed to the left, too. And remember....Keep Singing!

HOMECOMING - CALLING ALL VOCAL ENSEMBLE ALUMNI

This Friday, October 19th is Homecoming at Tillamook High School.

We've started a Homecoming choral tradition that the Vocal Ensemble sings the National Anthem and invites all Vocal Ensemble Alumni...who sang under Mrs. Henderson's direction...to join us. (We have to keep the invitation to only those that I've directed because as long as I've been at Tillamook, we've always sang the same Star-Spangled Banner arrangement.)

So, all of you out there that can come - meet at the flagpole by the track at 6:30 PM on the 19th. Hope to see you there for a mini-Vocal Ensemble Reunion.

ALL-STATE TAPES SENT IN

I got to the Post Office last Friday (October 5th) with 11 All-State Choir Audition Tapes. You heard me right...11 !!!! I'll keep you all posted as to who gets accepted. We should know later this month.

On a side note....Mrs. Henderson went kayaking today for the first time. It was so FUN! I'm ready to go again tomorrow if I could. Here's a picture I took while in the kayak...I thought it was nice.
Here's Mr. Thomas, Mr. Hopfer and Mr. Dias coming in to dock. Mr. Eggert, Mr. Dixson and Mr. Gardner already had landed and walked back to their cars. All in all....a successful trip down Hoquarten Slough.

BAHAMA'S HERE WE COME...

Tonight, Nathan Casteel, Loren Decker and Becky Decker (Loren's mom) accompanied me to the October School Board Meeting at Liberty Elementary. We presented the Vocal Ensemble plans to travel to the Bahamas in April and they said it sounded like fun and wished us a good time. So...it's OFFICIAL...we're headed to the islands of blue water and conch shells.

Now for the fund-raising! Don't forget to collect those pop cans...no kidding.

Good job singing today for Monday Musical, Vocal Ensemble. No pictures, but you people looked awesome, too!

Kristen Hansell...a big-time Tillamook Choir Department (and Band and Drama) supporter came by to visit the other day and snapped some candid shots. Here are a few casual choir shots. Thanks for the visit, Kristen.
