Choral Leadership Workshop

Saturday, September 29th, 8 students made their way to Willamette University in Salem to attend the 2007 Choral Leadership Workshop: Melissa Jenck, Stephanie Jenck, Laura Bofill, Angel Stromberg, Charlie Cooper, Dustin Decker, Bob Critelli and Sean Richards. (Charlie, Dustin and Sean have been at Outdoor School this week and actually had a little bit of "voice" left. :-)

Dr. Wallace Long is the choir director at Willamette and believes in enabling choir members to be leaders within the choir. Besides teaching the 257 choir leaders about vocal techniques and warmups and how to be a good section leader, we worked on 3 songs at school and rehearsed and performed them at the workshop. A CD was recorded of the Saturday performance. After the workshop we went to Red Robin for dinner....the endless Strawberry Lemonades were delicious!

Welcome 2007-2008!!

School started last week. We're going to have an awesome year!

The new section leaders for Concert Choir this year are: Soprano - Amy Nordlander, Alto - Angel Stromberg, Tenor - Charlie Cooper, Bass - Jordan Wolfe. Congratulations!!

We've started an eScrip Race For Registration contest where we hope to get a bunch of new supporters for our Choir Department.

Our first concert is October 22nd at 7 PM. Any Choir Alumni in the area...we hope you can come. Don't forget that during the Winter Concert we want you to come sing the "Hallelujah Chorus" with us. It's always a highlight for me to see you all again.

Also...all you Vocal Ensemble Alumni...meet us at the flagpole on Homecoming Night at 6:30 PM to practice singing the National Anthem - and then singing with us on the track in front of the grandstand.

Now that school has begun, visit this site often to stay in touch with what we're doing.
