Honor Choir singers:
Here are the rehearsal tracks for 5 of your 6 songs. There are no words and no individual parts. If you have a hard time downloading the tracks let me know ASAP.
The 6th song (Silver Birds) was composed by Michael Simpson (Neah-Kah-Nie HS Choir Director). The rehearsal track for that song is on my office computer.
You really need your music to follow along, so get busy! We'll be starting lunchtime rehearsals our first week back . . . how about Tuesday & Friday? Done. :-)
Remember - Honor Choir is February 6 - 7 in St. Helens.

HONOR CHOIR MUSIC IS HERE!
After school today I made it to the office and found that our Honor Choir music was sitting there. We also received the rehearsal CD in the mail today.
IF we have school Friday - make sure and get your music before Christmas break.
I'll be putting a link for the rehearsal CD on this blog really soon.
Remember - Honor Choir is February 6 -7.

MAESTRO GREGORY VAJDA
Thursday was a busy day! Gregory Vajda (Oregon Symphony Conductor) was our guest in Vocal Ensemble and Concert Choir. He worked a bit with the Vocal Ensemble and had a Q & A time with the Concert Choir. Carmen Byron came, too. She works with the education department of the Oregon Symphony

Everyone really enjoyed his visit and we all look forward to working with him in the future.
Mark May 1st and 2nd on your calendars now. May 1st is the day set for an All-District Concert and May 2nd is the day for the Community Concert. Next month the Percussion section will visit and share their expertise with all district students.

ZOOLIGHTS 2008
Vocal Ensemble sang at ZooLights once again . . . and we all had a great time.

We loaded the bus and headed out...
We started with a trip to Washington Square for some shoppin'. We all ate some dinner, too. (Mrs. Henderson had a soup & salad dinner at Cheesecake Factory that hit the spot.)
We headed over to ZooLights and got busy singing.
Mr. and Mrs. Thompson met us there and treated everyone to hot chocolate. Besides being delicious, it made a great hand warmer. The weather was sooooooooooo cold - but a dry cold, so it was bearable. The full moon helped make the evening a hit, too.

Thanks to Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. Walker and Mara's family for being a part of our audience.
Tony Hansell (2007 VE alum) is home from Germany and came along this year. He didn't get to attend ZooLights as a senior due to his senior project. It was an honor having a military man sing with us.

A trip to ZooLights wouldn't be complete without singing in the Polar Bear Cave. We had an audience of one mother and her daughter in a stroller, but we didn't sing becuase of them...they were an added bonus. The acoustics in the Polar Bear Cave are fantastic!

One final pose with the ZooLights Reindeer and we boarded the bus for home.

Junior High Choir 1st Trimester Party
We've got to celebrate sometime, right?

The Junior High Choir sang at Five Rivers and also finished the 1st Trimester of school...so we had a party.

There were plenty chips, candy, cookies & soda pop!
