VOCAL ENSEMBLE SPRING TRIP

Here we are at Munchies in Ashland, OR. eating some dinner. 11 students traveled this year on our annual Spring Trip. This year was an In-State travel year, so we visited OSU (Oregon State University), SOU (Southern Oregon University) and U of O (University of Oregon). While at OSU we sat in on 2 choir rehearsals and 1 recording session with Dr. Steven Zeilke. At U of O we had a clinic with Dr. Shannon Chase. We also saw 2 productions at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland: a new musical "Tracy's Tiger" and an old standard Shakespeare play "As You Like It". We also took a backstage tour of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, visited the Oregon Vortex in Gold Hill (very interesting place, but kinda quirky) and we actually camped out in tents one night, eating our dinner and breakfast with the help of our campfire. Clair and Pat Thomas were our chaperones who aren't pictured here, but were a BIG help throughout the trip. Thanks, you two!! Good to go...good to get back.

Now we're on the final week of preparation for our Spring Musical: The Wizard of Oz. 5 cast members are pictured here...the Cowardly Lion, Glinda, The Tinman, The Wicked Witch of the East and a Munchkin. Our director, Karla Bofill, is doing a fine job again this year getting the last minute details done. Opening night is this Thursday, April 25th @ 7:00 PM in the T.H.S. Don Whitney Auditorium. Mr. Coughlin and I will be in the Orchestra. See you there!
