THS CONCERT CHOIR HEADS TO 2008 STATE!!

Friday started out in a usual way. During my prep time at school I thought I'd check the OSAA site on a whim to see if the State Choir Championship schedule had been posted. It had. Tillamook was not on the list and there were no "tape pool" spots open for our 4A Classification. I shot off an email to Mr. Wallmark (our OSAA contact) and for the next 2 hours we proceeded to have an emailing-frenzy which resulted in a 13th choir (Tillamook) being added to the 12 choir spots.

It seems that our online application and other application submissions (which were submitted approximately 1 week before the deadline) had been overlooked. To make a long story short...our Concert Choir will be traveling to Newberg on May 2nd to compete in the State Choir Championships at George Fox University AND I'm going to buy a sweatshirt this year! The one hitch is that we are scheduled in the warm-up room at 8:20 AM, we sing at 8:40 and then sight-read at 9 AM...I hope every singer has access to an espresso machine that day! We'll be leaving THS at 6 AM.

If you want to know the details of the rest of the story you can ask. It was mighty suspenseful, to say the least.

Pictured above is Marquise on the cruise ship with his "How did he do it?" look after the waiter balanced 2 forks on 2 toothpicks. I still don't get it.
