The other day (around May 27th, I believe) our maintenance men were on the auditorium roof measuring it for a good summer tarring when Mr. Hastings noticed a dip where there shouldn't be one. After going up inside the cat-walk area and looking around with a flashlight he noticed why the dip was there. A major beam had broke and fell about 1 foot laying rest on other structural beams.
This is not good.
Kudos to Tillamook School District for taking swift action on this damage. Engineers surveyed the scene the next day.
It's believed that the damage was done during the big wind storm last December.
A crane has been brought in and work begins today, May 30th!
Unfortunately nobody is allowed in the auditorium and we had to move our scheduled Spring Concert to the Junior High Gym. The students took it in stride and they made a memorable night of it.
